Hey! I'm a lady!!

I've been so busy with work lately so I thought that I would do a quick post of my NOTW. :)
done simply with a striper and a dotting tool. This took me 10 minutes which was veeeeery value for time. I would have dedicated at least an hour for this level of cuteness easy. I wonder if it would look as cute with colors other than red. Maybe rainbow buggies? blue green yellow orange and purple?

Good Golly, You Should See My Nails!!

It's gonna be a mother to clean but the results of heavy chunky glitter are always pretty amazing.

From afar it just looks gold.

I never used to like glitter but I dont know what has gotten into me lately. I've bought 3 chunky glitters in the past month and I'm thinking about going out today to buy more colors of this particular glitter polish. Silver? Purple? Blue? All available colors??? haha. we'll see. I'm a bit broke at the moment having spent all of my money buying movie tickets to see Spiderman multiple times, and the 4DX seats, no less! I'm having a hard time choosing who to ogle, Stone or Garfield. :P

Say Hello to My Little Friends

Miss Chubby Bunny loves chubby bunnies! Introducing for the first time, my two lovely boys: Euratom and Electron!!!

TA-DAAAAA!
The cream colored normal sized one is 4 year old Euratom, Thai bunny, no particular breed. I love him to death. I cried and cried when I had to go away for a whole year because I didnt think he would make it past 3 years old, but look at him! Still going strong! BIG KISS!!

The grey and white baby lop-eared one is Electron! He's a little baby 3 month old Holland Lop and he is teeeny tiny and really precious. EQUALLY BIG KISS!

I did have another baby Holland Lop, but sadly it died. TwT. His name was Megaton.  Such cool names for bunnies, dont you think? (tooting my own horn a bit, I know) Euratom, Megaton, Electron. Sounds like I'm ready to make a bomb or something.

I wanted to take a photo with my whole collection of nail polishes but bunny couldn't stay out of it.

And look what happend!

Haha. dead upon impact. poor bunny :P

I Always Want What I Cannot Have: A Rant

I've been so busy socializing lately that I haven't been online much. I dont know how I missed out on this but my friend has brought to my attention the new and very exciting development in the world of nail polish!! The OPI black Spotted!! Basically, its a special effects top coat which separates into little bubbles like so:

(Photo courtesey of Tasteslikeglitter and Polishartaddiction)

As I thought there could be nothing new in nail polishes, out this comes. I am quite amazed and I WANT WANT WANT WANT this. The bad news is that it only retails in Sephora France (why, OPI, why?) and I am sooooo far from France. The prices on ebay has been hiked up to 54 dollars! Dont these retail for 13.90 euros?? I dont know what to do!! HELP!!

If anybody in France is willing to do a swap with me I will be eternally grateful. Otherwise, I would have to wait for this to be launched in other countries, or for when my mother visits Aix En Provence in October. Is there even a Sephora store in Aix? Things are not looking too good for me here.

Ah... and the fact that I cannot purchase this makes me covet it even more! Damn you, OPI, just as I was about to quit you, you go and do THIS.

Goodbye.
I'm going to go cry in the corner for the night. haha

Something Sexy: Chanel Peridot

Last week I went out to dinner with my former co-workers and we got to discussing sexy inanimate objects. One of them has just gotten a brand new guitar and he swears it is the sexiest thing he's ever seen. I got to thinking I've never found an inanimate object sexy in my life. People say sports cars are sexy. People say guns are sexy. People say cameras are sexy. I said the closest thing to a sexy inanimate object is a paperback novel with brown paper, which I realize does not sound sexy at all.

Well, lo and behold. There's no denying I've found the sexiest inanimate object ever.

Look at it reflecting the sunlight like that. Such a tease!

At first I didnt like Peridot at all. I think it's just a regular duochrome polish and it's not fast dry. Then, I read on Refinery29 that it's getting discontinued and I panicked. I bought it over the counter full price although I already have a similar color that's fast dry, no less. Then, I excitedly texted my friend and she informed me within 5 minutes of purchase that there's an EXACT dupe out there, the OPI Just Spotted the Lizard (Spiderman Collection). I was feeling kind of down because it was quite expensive, 3 times more expensive than OPI, but when I sat down and opened the box,and shit did I change my mind!

Damn, this color polish in this bottle sure does look oh so sleek, and oh so sexy. A lot sexier than it would've been in the fat OPI bottle or the Holika Holika (Korean brand) bottle I own.
I can just sit and look at it all day. I know, I know. I am crazy. I'm not denying that, but then again, who isn't? I guess everything is sexy if you look at it right, yes, even an old paperback novel.

Here's a picture of my very sexy coworker with his very sexy guitar for your viewing pleasure.

Challenge Accepted: Tribal Nails

Not so long ago one of my very good friends have challenged me to do the tribal nail art. Now, I cant draw to save my life and this is my first time doing free hand nail art. All in all, not so bad, right? I must say I couldnt have done it without quick dry nail polishes. I did my left hand in 30 minutes and I did my right in 15 minutes (I am a rightie but I was less neat because I was a bit lazy at this point).

Here's my very own tribal nails.

Here was my (a lot more intricate than my end result) inspiration. Sorry I couldnt credit the owner since my friend posted this photo on my wall. (She got it from someone's instagram account)
It was pretty late so I just grabbed the polishes closest to me. (since this was just an experiment anyway). Maybe next time I'll go with a yellow-turquoise combination.
Here's what I came up with:
Sally Hansen color quick in Silver Chrome, Chanel nail color in Black Satin (209), and OPI DS in Reflection, and of course, some striper polishes as pictured, along with a dotting tool and my old name card to swipe the edges of the nail bed. Sorry for the bad lighting, but this is a night time post after all.  ZzzzzzzzzzZ

Ok now that I've shown off my first freehand manicure I can go to bed happy and continue to be happy and scream a little everytime I look at my nails. So off I go. I'll talk to you guys later! Goodnight!

Officially on the Neon Bandwagon

I've been wanting to try the splatter nails for weeks. It looks easy enough on the youtube tutorials. You dont need to be able to draw. You dont need to be precise. And the end result looks complicated enough to strike my fancy. Lately, the neon trend has become very, very prominent and who am I to resist?  I'd like to think of myself as fair-skinned and able to pull off any color on my face, body, and nails but this time I kinda chickened out. I've just bought the neon orange and I dont think I could make it work so I thought this would be the perfect solution: neon splatter nails!! And I must say, ladies and gentlemen, I really do think I'm in love!!

Here are the colors I used. White as a base. Neons as the spatter. I ended up not usng the blue H&M one because the nails looked pretty full with 4 colors.

I ran out of those big kitchen towlette napkins so I used a piece of giftwrap paper instead, and boy, was I glad I did. No way could have the napkin been big enough to catch all the splatter! Here's the mess I made:

I started off with green, then orange, then pink, then yellow, using regular drinking straws dipped in nail polish, splattering them with a blow and I'd have to say I was surprised to find that this nail art design was pretty damn hard. You had to have the right consistency of nail polish and the right amount of force when blowing the straws for it to splatter correctly. You also have to position the splatter so they create a multicolor design instead of one big pukey glob. It took me fooooreveeerrr and by forever I mean 1 hour and 40 minutes, the longest I've ever spent on my nails by far! This included the cleanup which was a bitch!

Still, the end results were amazing and dare I say, totally worth it. I've recieved lots of compliments from my friends today and one even asked me to splatter her nails!
I'm kinda pissed my camera refused to capture the green. I assure you this looks sooo much better in person. I guess there was too much going on for the camera to handle, with the macro, the sun, and the bright colors. haha
Here you see a bit of the neon green.
All in all, I'm very pleased with the results and cant wait to try this with different colors! I did find (towards the end) that applying the nail polish directly to the ends of the straws saved me some time and allowed me to better control the amount of nail polish and the size of the splatter. Next time though, I think I'll rub a bit of baby oil at the sides of my nails to save me a bit of cleaning time. I hope it wont mess things up! We'll see. For now I am very content and super excited to show off my nails to all who care to look. Happy happy happy. Definately a must-try.
